SPAIN PHOTO WORKSHOP 2025
Welcome to the Mark Hemmings & Hygge Life Travel Photo Workshop!
LOCATION: Andalusia region (Southern Spain) including Seville, Ronda, Cordoba, Malaga and trips to various Pueblo Blanco mountain villages.
DATE: Saturday March 23 to Sunday March 30, 2025.
COST: $3,995 USD per person (the single supplement is waived for this trip).
DETAILS: We have professional local guides ready to take us to the best spots while Mark teaches you all his favourite photography tips and techniques.
The price of $3,995 USD includes all in-country transportation from the evening of March 23 to the morning of March 30, all hotels, entry fees to select historic locations (see itinerary for details), walking tours with local guides, Mark’s workshop teaching fee and all hotel breakfasts.
The price doesn’t include transportation to the Malaga hotel on Saturday the 23rd, or return to your departure airport on Sunday the 30th at the end of the workshop. The reason for this exception is because each guest has their own time of arrival and departure, and also some may find that Madrid is an easier airport to arrive at (and then a local train to Malaga). For example, Mark arrives a day earlier in Madrid, and then he makes his way via high speed train to Malaga for Saturday. The price also doesn’t include lunches or dinners, although we usually eat as a group.
If Madrid is an easier arrival point, please join Mark for a pre-workshop evening street photography session in Madrid on Friday.
Our local guides will show us the best of the three major cities and smaller mountain towns, and Mark will teach photography during the tours. As Mark is a big fan of local food, our guide will be aware that we love tasting local specialties.
ITINERARY
Sunday March 23: Welcome to Malaga Spain! This is the birthplace of the famous artist Pablo Picasso. Malaga has an impressive number of Museums and monuments, as well as the very photogenic Paseo del Parque. Upon arrival in Malaga, guests make their way to the 4 star MS-Maestranza Hotel (or similar hotel, to be confirmed). Evening photo walk with Mark and local guide, with a group dinner at approximately 8pm.
Monday March 24: Morning Malaga walking tour with our local guide. Our photographic visits include various monuments, historic buildings, and incredible street photography. ‘Chiringito’ fish lunch near the Mediterranean, and an afternoon trip to Ronda. We will photograph the famous Ronda bridge and then dinner. We will stay at the 4 star Catalonia Hotel.
Tuesday March 25: We will depart Ronda late morning after a sunrise photoshoot of the Ronda bridge. We will eat lunch at Sentinil de las Bodegas after a photo shoot in the amazing cliff-dwelling village. With a short stop at the incredibly photogenic Zahara de la Sierra, we will arrive in Seville late afternoon, and then an evening photo walk and dinner. We will stay for two nights at the 4 star Seville Melia Hotel.
Wednesday March 26: Morning walking tour with our local Seville guide, from approximately 10am to 12 noon. Our photographic visits include La Plaza de España, historic buildings, and exploring Barrio Santa Cruz. Tapas lunch at approximately 12:30pm, and an afternoon visit to the Royal Alcazar and Cathedral. Return to our hotel for 7pm, and then at 8pm depart for our dinner. Admission fees for today are covered in the workshop price.
Thursday March 27: After a morning photo walk with Mark, we will depart Seville at 11am and stop at Carmona for lunch. After lunch we will reach our next destination, Córdoba. After a fantastic late afternoon/evening photo walk, we’ll have dinner in Cordoba at a fantastic tapas restaurant, and then overnight at the 4 star NH Amistad Hotel.
Friday March 28: Breakfast is between 7:30 and 9:30, and then a morning guided walking tour of Córdoba, Barrio San Basilio, the City Walls, the Juderia (Jewish Quarter). At 1pm we will visit and photograph the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba, then a lunch break, and after lunch a visit to the famous Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. 4pm to 7pm is free time, then at 7pm we will go on an evening photo walk with dinner at approximately 8:30pm.
Saturday March 29: After breakfast between 7:30am and 9:30am, we will take a trip at 10am to the Subbética National Park, including Zuheros (a ‘Pueblo Blanco’) at 11:45am. Lunch at the Baroque town of Priego de Córdoba for 1:30pm. Return to our Córdoba hotel for 4:15pm. Free time until our evening photo walk at 7pm, dinner at 8:30pm.
Sunday March 30: After breakfast our guests make their own arrangements for departure or onward travel.
At the end of the photo workshop on Sunday March 30th, Mark will be returning to Madrid for a flight home on Monday March 31. If your flight departs Madrid feel free to travel with Mark from Córdoba on Saturday.
